Sheep Vaccination and Worming Program
Vaccinations:
Lambs:
1) Nasalgen at birth (1/2cc/nostril).
2) 2-4 weeks of age(at docking or castration).
a) 1/2cc Tetanus Antitoxin, SQ.
b) 1cc Vision CD&T, S.Q.
3) 8-10 weeks of age.
a) 1cc Vision CD&T, SQ.
b) 1cc Nasalgen (1/2cc in each nostril)
4) 14-16 weeks of age.
a) 2cc Vision CD&T, booster.
b) 1cc Nasalgen (1/2cc in each nostril)
c) Rabies (optional) 2cc IM
Ewes:
1) 2cc Vision CD&T annually. (1 month prior to lambing)
2) Worm Spring & Fall.
3) Nasalgen (1/2cc/nostril). (1 month prior to lambing/optional)
4) Rabies (optional) 2cc IM
Rams:
1) 2cc Vision CD&T annually.
2) Examine testicles for nodules +/- bleed for brucellosis annually.
3) Nasalgen (1cc in each nostril)
4) Rabies (optional) 2cc IM
Worming:
Worming every 6 months is sufficient in most areas (once in the spring and again in the fall). Begin worming at 2-3 months of age. Commonly used products:
1) Levasole
2) Ivomec-drench
3) Panacur-drench
4) Valbazen-drench (not to be given to pregnant ewes)
